BillsspliT Waiter Crew — 30-day beta
Version: TO BE CONFIRMED — TERMS
VERSION
Effective date: TO BE CONFIRMED —
EFFECTIVE DATE
1. Who runs the programme?
The programme is operated by PJ Bosman Sole Proprietor, trading as BillsspliT, at TO BE CONFIRMED — BUSINESS ADDRESS. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “BillsspliT” refer to that operator. “You” means the person applying or participating.
Programme contact: advertising@billssplit.com / TO BE CONFIRMED — SUPPORT WHATSAPP NUMBER.
These terms cover the Waiter Crew beta. The diner web app has its own applicable terms and privacy information.
2. Applying and selection
You may apply if you:
- Are at least 18 years old.
- Currently work as a waiter in South Africa.
- Have a smartphone with WhatsApp and internet access.
- Can participate for a full 30 days if selected.
- Are willing to introduce BillsspliT honestly and politely.
Provide accurate answers and keep your contact details current. One person may have one active beta participation record. Tell us about an error instead of making duplicate applications.
Places are limited. We review eligibility, readiness, workplace circumstances and the beta’s operating capacity. Applying does not guarantee selection, earnings or equipment.
Successful applicants will be contacted by TO BE CONFIRMED — CONTACT DEADLINE, SAST. If you have not heard from us by then, your application was not successful. You may contact support to check or correct your details.
3. What selected participants receive
Selected participants receive one free personalised NFC/QR bottle opener, an assigned tracking code, a short demonstration before activation, and support during the beta.
We confirm the name to appear on your opener before preparing it. Delivery or collection arrangements, timing and any associated cost must be disclosed and agreed in advance. Applying does not place an order for paid equipment.
There is no application or participation fee. You provide your own phone and normal data access. No purchase of the diner ad-free option is required.
4. Activation and duration
Selection is followed by confirmation of participation, equipment handover and training. We then send an official activation message stating the start and end date and time of your 30-day earning period in SAST.
Only qualifying splits started and completed within that period are eligible. Verification may finish afterwards. No rewards accrue before activation. An extension or a later programme requires a separate written agreement; it is not automatic.
5. Reward calculation
The reward is R10 per verified qualifying BillsspliT, capped at R500 for your activated 30-day beta.
| Verified qualifying splits | Cumulative reward |
|---|---|
| 1 | R10 |
| 10 | R100 |
| 20 | R200 |
| 30 | R300 |
| 40 | R400 |
| 50 or more | R500 maximum |
These are cumulative amounts, not separate bonuses. A qualifying bill is counted once and cannot generate rewards for more than one waiter. We use the assigned-link evidence to establish attribution. Any unclear attribution is reviewed rather than automatically paid twice.
Actual earnings depend on verified activity. No minimum earnings, R500 payment or continuing monthly income is guaranteed.
6. What qualifies
A split qualifies only when all of the following are true:
- It comes from a genuine restaurant table.
- It begins through your assigned NFC/QR link.
- It includes a scan of a genuine restaurant bill.
- The live session is shared by QR code or link.
- At least two genuine diners participate and allocate their items.
- All participants mark their amounts paid.
- The start and completion fall inside your activated earning period.
- The activity passes verification and has not already earned a reward.
Taps alone, tests, demonstrations, incomplete sessions, duplicate bills, fake diners, fake bills and manufactured activity do not qualify. Do not split one real table bill into artificial sessions to earn several rewards.
A diner’s “paid” confirmation is a statement inside the app. BillsspliT does not process or independently confirm the restaurant payment.
7. Verification and queries
We review the available waiter-code, bill, session, participant, completion and timing records. Activity awaiting checks remains pending; it is not yet a confirmed reward.
Where information is unclear, we may ask you for relevant details. We will not ask you to invent a session, disclose a diner’s banking credentials or obtain unnecessary private information.
If we exclude activity, you may ask for the reason and request a human review through support. Supply the date, waiter code and available session reference. We will explain the decision using the available evidence while protecting other people’s information.
8. Payment
Before activation, your written acceptance offer must state:
- Payout method: TO BE CONFIRMED — METHOD.
- Verification deadline: TO BE CONFIRMED — PERIOD OR DATE.
- Payment deadline: TO BE CONFIRMED — PERIOD OR DATE.
- Information needed from you: TO BE CONFIRMED — APPROVED PAYMENT DETAILS AND COLLECTION METHOD.
These details form part of your participation agreement. Do not activate until they have been provided and accepted.
We provide the verified count and reward amount. If payment details are incorrect or a transfer fails, we will explain the issue and arrange correction. Such a delay does not itself erase an earned reward. A dispute about some activity does not automatically cancel unrelated, verified rewards.
9. Workplace responsibilities
Written employer permission is not compulsory for this beta application. This does not override your employment agreement or restaurant rules. Obtain any permission your workplace requires.
Do not introduce or use BillsspliT where your employer has prohibited it. If told to stop, stop immediately and inform us. Tell us before using the opener at a different restaurant so that workplace and tracking details can be checked.
Routine contact with your manager happens only where you authorise it and confirm they know their details were supplied. Being selected by BillsspliT is not proof of your employer’s approval.
10. Conduct at the table
Introduce BillsspliT politely and let diners decide. Do not pressure them, interfere with restaurant service, misrepresent the offer or promise that BillsspliT will collect their payment.
Do not manufacture activity, impersonate diners, share your assigned code for another waiter to claim as their own, or manipulate bill or completion records.
Handle diners’ information only as needed for normal service and legitimate support. Do not keep copies of receipts or participant details for your own marketing. A diner’s decision not to use BillsspliT must be respected.
11. Equipment and interruptions
Take reasonable care of your opener. Report loss, damage or a link that opens incorrectly. We will explain whether a replacement is available and any proposed cost before you agree. There is no automatic deduction from your rewards for lost equipment.
Connectivity or technical problems may interrupt the service. Report problems promptly. A tap during an outage is not automatically a qualifying split. We will review any recoverable evidence and explain the outcome; an outage does not create a guaranteed reward or automatic extension.
12. Leaving, suspension or ending the beta
You may withdraw by contacting support. We may pause or end participation for an unresolved workplace prohibition, loss of eligibility, misuse, a serious rule breach, or a technical or operational reason preventing the beta from continuing.
We will explain the reason and effective date as soon as reasonably practicable. Where urgent action is needed to protect diners, information or the service, a pause may take effect before a review is complete. You may provide information and ask for a review.
Valid rewards earned before the effective end remain payable after verification, up to the beta limit. We will not cancel all rewards simply because you leave, your employer asks you to stop, or the programme ends early. Invalid activity remains ineligible.
Any request concerning return or replacement of equipment must follow an arrangement disclosed and accepted beforehand; these terms do not create an undisclosed charge.
13. Programme relationship and rights
This is an application to a limited reward programme, not an offer of employment or a salary. It does not authorise you to bind BillsspliT to contracts, collect money on its behalf or speak as its authorised representative. The actual relationship and applicable law determine legal rights; a label in these terms does not remove them.
Nothing here excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. No guarantee is made about earnings or uninterrupted availability.
14. Personal information and messages
The Privacy Notice explains application, verification, support and payment information. Essential programme messages and optional future-opportunity marketing are separate. Declining marketing does not affect selection or earned rewards.
15. Changes, questions and disputes
We may clarify wording or propose changes for future participation. Material changes will be explained before they apply. We will not retrospectively reduce rewards already earned under the agreed rules. Changes to an active earning period’s financial terms require your agreement, subject to any mandatory legal requirement.
Contact support first if you would like us to resolve a programme question. This does not prevent you from approaching an appropriate regulator, adviser or court. South African law applies, subject to rights that cannot be excluded.
